Sukumo, a natural indigo dye, boasts the highest production volume in Japan. It is made using traditional indigo dyeing techniques passed down through the ages.To inherit and further develop the tradition of Awa Ai, a valuable and historically significant craft, the association was established in 2019. It is composed of companies from various industries, including indigo dyeing studios, woodworking, pottery, and food.

Since its establishment, the association has carried out a wide range of initiatives, including hosting exhibitions both within and outside the prefecture, collaborating with local resort hotels, and developing collaborative products with designers. The association is dedicated to promoting the charm of Awa Ai both domestically and internationally.
