Protect and enhance the brand's strength.
This federation is composed of five associations of Tokushima's Karaki Butsudan (Buddhist altar) manufacturers, which boast the highest shipment value in Japan.
The federation hosts an annual trade fair in Tokyo in April and in Kyoto in November. At these events, not only Tokushima manufacturers but also Buddhist-related manufacturers from outside the prefecture participate. These trade fairs are some of Japan's largest for Karaki Butsudan, attracting numerous buyers from retail and wholesale stores across the country.
Furthermore, the long-standing tradition of manufacturing using traditional techniques has been highly recognized, and in 2003, it was certified as a traditional specialty product of Tokushima Prefecture. In 2007, "Tokushima Karaki Butsudan" was registered as a regional collective trademark.
Since the registration, the federation has created a logo, produced PR brochures and promotional materials, and installed exhibits at trade fairs and retail stores. These efforts aim to differentiate Tokushima products from those of other regions, protect Tokushima-made products, and enhance the brand's strength.
