At Hon-Aizome Yano Factory, all products are dyed using the ancient technique of natural alkaline fermentation indigo dyeing, which has been passed down through generations. They are committed to creating products that are healthy (good for the body) and safe (free from harmful chemicals), adhering strictly to the principle of never using chemical agents. Using sukumo (indigo paste) made by the 19th-generation indigo master Akito Sato at the nationally designated Awa Indigo Manufacturing Intangible Cultural Heritage site and renowned for exceptional skill as a modern master craftsman, they ensure that every dyeing process, from handkerchiefs to yukata and kimono, is carried out without compromise.
