Traditional Industries of Tokushima
Located in the eastern part of Shikoku, Tokushima Prefecture serves as a gateway from the Kansai region. Bordered by the Seto Inland Sea and the Pacific Ocean, approximately 80% of its land is covered by mountains. The Yoshino River, also known as “Shikoku Saburo,” flows from east to west, shaping the region’s landscape. Surrounded by this rich natural environment, generations of people have cultivated various industries. These traditional industries have evolved over time while being passed down to the present day.
